Who is Tara? 谁是张雅笛?
张雅笛2003年出生于湖南长沙,长期在法国求学,关注藏族文化和中国人权议题。张雅笛网名“Tara”,通晓汉语、藏语、英语和法语,她是华语青年挺藏会的编辑,也是“白纸青年”运动参与者之一。
她热衷于学术与社会议题,推动汉藏族群交流,致力于消解民族对立和推进民族和解。最近获得英国伦敦大学亚非学院(SOAS)人类学硕士奖学金,原计划赴英继续深造。2025年7月,她从法国返乡探亲期间,于云南香格里拉失联,随后被国家安全部门以涉嫌“煽动分裂国家罪”拘捕,目前被关押于长沙市国家安全局看守所。
Born in Changsha, Hunan in 2003, Zhang Yadi studied in France for a long time and is interested in Tibetan culture and human rights issues in China. She goes by the online name "Tara" and is fluent in Chinese, Tibetan, English, and French. She is an editor of the Chinese Youth Support Tibet Association and a participant in the "White Paper Youth" movement.
She is passionate about academic and social issues, promoting exchanges between Han and Tibetan peoples, and is committed to resolving ethnic tensions and promoting reconciliation. She recently received a scholarship to pursue a Master's degree in Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and had originally planned to continue her studies in the UK. In July 2025, while returning from France to visit her family, she lost contact in Shangri-La, Yunnan. She was subsequently arrested by state security authorities on suspicion of "inciting secession" and is currently detained in Changsha.
Tara is a Chinese and English public writer on Tibetan issues. She bravely writes about the oppressed history and reality of Tibetans through her research.
