人权律师江天勇受朋友之托前往长沙,尝试为张雅笛母亲周女士提供法律帮助.江天勇律师在在“广电时光之城咖啡店”与家属会面逾一小时后,二人被三名长沙市国家安全局人员强行带走并传唤. 随后二人被释放.
At the request of friends, human rights lawyer Jiang Tianyong traveled to Changsha to provide legal assistance to Tara's mother. After meeting for just over an hour in a café, both he and Tara's mother were forcibly taken away by three officers from the Changsha State Security Bureau. They were released later that day.

On July 31, Tara was criminally detained by the Changsha City National Security Bureau of Hunan Province on suspicion of "inciting secession of the country" and was detained at the detention center at No. 300 Shanyue Road, Kaifu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province.
